Did I get the wrong injectors for the upgrade?
Hello,
I have done a lot of research (not enough appearently) on an injector swap for my 91 cherokee. I figured out what I needed and was going to go to the junkyard to find some injectors, but the night before I checked ebay and won some yellow, 4 hole injectors that were reman'd for cheaper than it would've been for the JY injectors. I got them yesterday and the they are definitely ford yellow stick injectors, with 4 holes, but the part # (which i didn't get to see before hand) is 0280150909 which is not what I thought I needed. Also, the ebay ad said "direct fit" but now I'm seeing I will need to solder clip nuts in? is this true? also, that I may need to change the FPR to one that matches the injector? I'm down with that I just need to know which one.
I know this may have been covered but my searches didn't come up with anything.
Thanks to anyone who can clear some of this up for me.

Yup, I have that list. The ebayer I bought off was a power seller with a high rating I just assumed he would have the right ones, especially claiming they were a direct fit for my year xj. But the part # is not the same as what is listed for the ford injectors I need.

The flow rate chart I got with mine said 210cc@43.5PSI. I don't know how that translates into lbs/hr.
They're from a 1992-1998 Ford 4.6 liter engine.
The 0280155710 injectors in the chart are listed as being from a 1997 Ford 4.6 liter (Calif.) engine on this page:
http://www.shopinjectors.com/injecto...n-victoria.htm
I've also been wondering if I should be concerned the fuel pressure regulator, since I have also seen that chart. But, I understand that there are a lot of people using them in their Cherokees.

Ah, thanks SNIDELYWHIPLASH I appreciate you putting my mind at ease. lol Glad to know they can work.
On the FPR subject, when I was reading about having to replace it, they claimed you should use a FPR out off the same engine the injectors are from. SO if they are from a 4.6L ford. this is the only result I came up with

Says its 41psi. I'm a have to do more research.

Here are the stock fuel injector specs for your year:
Model Year, ......Part #, ......Colour, .....Fuel Pressure, ..........Static Flow,
'91-'93, ........33007127, .....Brown, .........39psi, .................21.0lb/hr
I found an online calculator here:
http://www.rceng.com/technical.aspx
The 0280150909 injector flow rate of 210cc/min@43.5 PSI works out to be 227.25cc/min@39 PSI, or 21.62 lbs/hr
That seems close enough to me. I would just put them in, and not worry about the FPR.

I appreciate the time you took to say that. I may just replace my FPR to a new stock one if it's dirty when I take a look at it.
Thanks again.

Ok, well I put them in some time ago, and I'm glad I did, the stock injectors were nasty, covered in gunk. The ones i got fit in fine, after comparing them to the old ones, he just added plastic pieces to make them fit like the stock ones, a little plastic spacer, and then a plastic endpiece with a little lip.
