Default Dented oil pan? Whats a good oil pressure for the 4.0

Ey guys my oil pressure at about 1800 rpms is at like 48 psi. And at a hot start up its and idle its at about 17-18 psi. Is this normal? Just making sure. There appears to be no leaks from the oil pan

That's good pressure. Min for hot idle is 13 PSI.

Any pics of the dent? I haven't been inside my oil pan yet but I'm sure someone more knowledgable could comment on whether or not you need to worry about the pickup tube for the pump. You can have good pressure without flow

Spec for the 4.0 is as follows:

*Not less than 13 psi at HOT idle

*Between 37-75 psi OVER 1600 rpms

You're fine.

We understand your under pressure, and yours is good.
Up here they club baby pans just for the oil, so skids are a geat idea!
Besides the dent and scrape your pan looks good.

Haha yeah, I meant it looks just like cosmetic damage. Nothing I'd worry about except maybe slapping some paint on.

I have one yet to be installed sitting in my parts pile. It's pretty beefy.
