Default Dent in downpipe?

This maybe a dumb question, but when I was replacing my CPS a while back I noticed that my downpipe has a dent in it. Just to the right of the flange, you can see where it's been bashed a little.

This isn't supposed to be there, right? Would this cause stalling to happen? It turned out after I replaced the CPS it kept stalling, so that problem ended being the fuel pump, but what kind of ramifications would this dent in my exhaust have?

The good news is the CPS won't be an issue now.

Opened it up? Did you put an aftermarket exhaust on? Or just round out the existing pipe?

I used a torch to get it red hot so it would bend easy
I had help to hold the thing at the angles I needed

set it on my outside vise used a 3/4 pipe with a cap on it stuck that inside
and beet the side of the 3/4 pipe with a 3lb hammer
I had to heat it and beet it several times

Thanks for posting this, guys. Didn't know that dent was a "factory option" . I just spent half a Sunday trying to bang that out with little success. Glad to know it wasn't caused by something I hit. I guess I can put the motor back in now...
