Default Defrost door
The plenum door lever that connects to the defrost door is broken. I cannot find this part. I can only find it for a Jeep Wrangler, but I have a Jeep Cherokee. It looks to be the same part. Is it interchangeable between Wranglers and Cherokees? If not, does anyone know where I can find it for a 1997 Jeep Cherokee.

Probably the junk yard. That's a very specific Jeep-only part and not considered "consumable" so not likely to find on auto-parts sites. Type into Amazon.com and see what comes up. There are a few omi-ada parts that might be what you're describing. Post a pic too.

This is the part don't think I can get from junk yard when removing it the tip brakes and that retains it. but the one I can find for the wrangler looks just like it.

Those pics you posted one is a hex and the other is a spline try some 3M Scotch Weld or similar.
