Death Wobble '93 XJ
OK I know "Death Wobble" threads have been done to death but had a quick question. I sometimes get horrible DW when I am going 55-65 and hit a sudden bump or hole or whatever. I recently changed both front u-joints (Which were trashed) and front shocks and the front hubs. No effect on the DW. I know the track bar is usually the culprit and plan that next but have this question:
Usually when I am say parking and backing into a space with the wheel turned sharply the front wheels make what feels like a sudden small jump or shift to the side. I am hoping just that tidbit of information might ring a bell with someone and might point to a likely cause of my DW. If not I shall proceed down the list changing things out.
PS: When I look under the front everything seems tight

Your Jeep is old enough to walk into any bar and order a drink. After 23 years, most of the rubber components are going to be worn out. Control arm bushings, sway bar inserts, ball joints, steering damper, and rod ends are all going to be shot.
I am going through the same with my '92. All the rubber parts are dried out.
