Dead guages, radio, entire interior

Ok, Where to start... I've got a 1993 Cherokee.

I inadvertantly reversed polarity when hooking the battery up (put the battery in backwards in a paniced/hurried fashion). I ended up blowing a few fuses, killed the alternator, and drained the battery.

I replaced the battery with a nice Duralast Gold top.

I replaced the alternator.

I replaced the alternator #1 and #2 fuses, 60 Amp, in the fuse box behind the battery.

I replaced the mini ignition fuse, 15 Amp, in the fuse box behind the battery.

The rest of the fuses in that panel, as well as all of the fuses in the panel under the dash on the drivers side, appear to be in good standing. Right now, none of the gauges work in the dash (battery, oil pressure, speedometer, gas, or tachometer). The interior lights, including the dash, do work. The radio is out as well.

I've gone as far as my knnowledge alone will allow me. Any ideas?

Ok, I missed one. Stupid Chilton's manual says Fuse #17 is "not used", but the wiring diagram shows it is indeed the instrument cluster.

Problem is... it's a 7.5A fuse. It was definitely blown, and each time I replace it and turn on the car, it blows again. Given my above situation... what did I do, and how do I fix it?

Do you know if there is anything like an instrument panel voltage regulator? Reversed polarity might have fried it if there is.
