Default Dead Battery- Underhood Light

I went out last night and discovered my remote lock key fob didn't work. I tested the batteries and found they were OK so I figured the key fob quit working. I went out this morning and found that my battery is stone dead which I suspect is the reason the locks didn't work. I found that the underhood light had fallen out of the bracket. I figure the light stayed on and this is what killed the battery. I didn't have time to mess with it so I took another vehicle to work.

I'm thinking of glueing the light to the bracket or just removing it completely. It snaps back into the bracket, but falls out pretty easily. The plastic tabs don't want to hold it securely. Anybody else had problems with the light killing a battery?

I had the same exact problem. I just removed the light.

Unplug the light. Leave it there so you can plug it back in if you need it some dark night.

That's what I was thinking, but if it falls out of the bracket without the wiring holding it, won't it fall right thru to the ground? I'm going to glue it in the bracket with some emblem adhesive. That should hold it and then it should still work as intended
