Dash & Tail Lights not working
Hi there
I just purchased a 2000 jeep Cherokee classic, as night descended on my way home with it i noticed i could not get the the dash to light up and my friend following me told me my tail lights were not working.
The car has an after market radio, but I have no idea how to take it out to check if all the wires are taped off etc.
How do I remove the radio to check the wiring back there?
General list of things i've check/noticed.
Under the hood its f#19 that keeps blowing, a 20 amp fuse. Im not sure if it blows as soon as i start car or once i pull out the light switch on the left hand side of wheel.
Fuse #26 and #27 10 amps, in the kick panel on the passengers side are also blown, i have not replaced them yet.
When i pull out the switch for the running lights and hold it before letting it slide out halfway, the guage for the battery shows a drain and the radio powers off.
The radio turns on as soon as the car turns on.
Thanks!

Sorry I figured it was modified since the last owner added a compressor under the hood, motorized winch, after-market radio and after market radio. I know the problem is deffiiitely stemming from the wiring job he did.

Yes the previous owner wired new speakers to the rear.
Airbag light still on. I replaced fuse #26 and #27. Fuse 26 blew again, replaced it. Hasn't blown yet, but the light remains on. Could he have tapped into the airbag power or crossed an airbag line.

misunderstanding of the sections... modified is when your asking tech questions about the modified components... your having problems with the OEM lights so belongs in OEM section... if you were having problems with the winch then you would post up in the modified section. maked tha sense? all good boss welcome to the forum!

Update!
Yikes!
So the dash and tail lights were working and i decided to reinstall the radio properly. everything not connected was butted off, so definitely no loose/expose wires touching/shorting.
As soon as i turned the car on the fuse blew and the lights didn't work.
The fuse blowing is the one under the hood. The headlight switch was replaced when i removed the radio originally.
The previous owner installed 4 infinity speakers and originally had a sub in the car which he removed. Could the speakers or wiring left from the sub be causing the problem? I checked under the back seat and i didnt see any extra wiring hanging around.
Im going to try and order a radio wiring harness online and just find a radio that plugs in directly or i might check the scrap yard for stock radios...
Thanks,
Adam
