Default dana 30 decision

I'm wanting to run 33s on my xj and just wondering if I beefed that 30 up it it would the abuse. I'm also running a 35 in the rear. Same thing beef it up just wonderig it they would work

I dog my jeep offroad and I have 30 in front and 35 in the rear. Was running 4.10 and Detroits
Installing 4.56 gears sunday and even with the 4.10 it never once failed me.
People will dog d30 and d35 but to each his own. Mine run great and wheel just as good as the next guy

Thanx for the info i was debating gears also I was gonna go 4.56 but wondered how the 4.10 would be. Didn't feel like spending 8900 for two dynatrac axles

your 30 will last on 33s. just get the 297 u-joints. you might want to look into a chrysler 8.25, Dana 44, or Ford 8.8 for the rear though.

You could go bigger but unless your gonna do major rocking crawling dana 35 will hold up. Just my $0.02

Thanx for the info. I have looked at the 8.8 but isn't it not a direct bolt on just have to cut and reweld the leaf spring mounts? Either whatever I do I'm gonna beef it the hell up cause I plan on abusing it or at least have a decently strong drivetrain. Id go with those rcv axleshafts I hear good things but pricy has hell
