Yep! And what about the front? I've seen so many people talking about XJ rear D44's but I've never seen anyone talk about where I could find a front D44. Any ideas?

It has to be built. Some use Grand Wagoneers for a close width match. Others use a HP44 from a Ford and narrow to use waggy shafts (my preference) others use axle donors and run them full width.

You wont find a front D44 with a 5x4.5" bolt pattern.

So it would probably be cheaper for me to beef my D30 and find a XJ D44?

Within reason.. yes.

If your planning to run 35+ tires you might be better off saving up for a front axle to be built. Unless your wheeling style/terrain is more on the mild side.

Welllllllll.....

Technically a TJ Rubicon D44 would bolt right in and has the 5x4.5 bolt pattern. BUT, it's just a D30 with a LP 44 centersection.

Hey tactical, what size tire do you plan on running?

LOL, I agree with you. But I have seen a few guys swap that Rubi D44 in, build it with chromoly's, CTM's, truss, etc, and throw 35's on and wheel the **** out of it.

But I stand by you standing by your statement.

A built D30 will handle 35's just fine if you don't beat the crap out of it. Find an XJ D44 or even a 29-spline Chry 8.25, gear it, lock it, rock it.
