ok so i noticed today when pulling into my driveway that there was a crunking and whining sound coming from my front axle so i investigated some more before work and narrowed it down to the differential i got to work and put some gear oil in it thinking it was a fix so i havent try driving since then and will be drive a lot tonight because im delivering pizza in it. its a 92 cherokee D30. i also pulled out the short shaft just to see whats up and there was some grass and some rocks in splines cleaned them off but still made noise. i went muddin and trail riding this past weekend could that have caused stuff to get in there? thanks in advance

 

Your wheelin trip prolly caused the foreign object to make it where they did.

Im curious though. How much fluid were you able to put in?

 

so i took it to the local shop to look at it and my trans mount is shot so its sagin pushing my front driveshaft into the D30 destroying the seal and my axle seal is toast i was able to put a quart in it before it started leakin out so i will get it back tomorrow all fixed up
