Default Curious about Hella fog light intergration, I don't have the factory harness....

So I just picked up a 96 Cherokee 4.0L and it does not have the stock fog light harness/switch. I picked up the Hella 500 fog light set and was curous about one aspect of installation. I have to run a 12v lead to the head light and I'm curious if anyone knows the difference between if I hook it into the high beam, low beam, park lights, etc. I want to be able to use the fog lights anytime, with no headlights on, with the headlights on, and with high beams on. Would this be accomplished if I tap that 12v line into the main headlight wire?

Thanks!

no run, a hot wire from the battery to the switch then back out to the lights or from the fuse box from a bat connection then to the switch

x2... run wire from bat + side instead of headlight switch. Then put separate switch in for fogs...

the kit came with a switch, I had every single intention of using it. I understand everything in the wiring diagram except the wire that says where to wire the 12v that comes from the switch....I found this writeup that explains it well I think...

http://www.4runners.org/writeups/hella500/index.html

This explained what I was looking for....

"Step 1: Understanding the Wiring Options
The supplied Hella 500 instructions in the box are just pure crap. However on the Hella website, they do have a much better, clearer version. I took that version and colorized it for even more visual clarity. In fact, I made two versions For the Hella 500 light series, there are four wiring options that rely on where you wire up the green wire coming from the relay. Where you hook up that green wire will determine under what circumstances your lights will be able turn on. These options are:

1) Green wire to high beam wire: driving lights can only be used when the high beams are active
2) Green wire to parking lamp wire: driving lights can be used anytime the parking lamps are active
3) Green wire to low beam wire: fog lights can only be used when the low beams are active
4) Green wire to auxiliary fuse box: driving lights can be used at anytime

I'm looking in the manual for the jeep, can I just connect that 12v to one of the empty spots in my relay center?
