CTS Replacement Instructions

I'm not finding any directions for replacing the (Coolant Temperature Sensor) in my 87 4.0 Renix.

Haynes has directions for later models that have the CTS in the Thermostat housing.

Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Also, do I have to remove the coolant to do this?

Thanks!

Driver's side of the block about 1/2 way up is where the SENSOR is that sends signals to the ECU. The temp SENDER for the dash gauge/light is at the driver's side rear corner of the head..

Right. I need to replace the sensor and I do not know how. The directions in the manual are for later year models.

Any suggestions?

The coolant temp sensor? Drain the coolant from the radiator. Unplug the sensor and unscrew it. Screw the new one in.
