cruise control not working

Please anyone know how to test the cruise control system and where can I find all the parts of the circuit system. I have a 87 xj with a manual trans, with vacuum ports at the transfer case no speed sensor between the transfer case and speedo cable. :dunno: Thanks for the Help
BTW, it was working before then one day it stopped working. I have owned my rig now for a couple yrs.

You probably have broken wires at the base of the turn signal stalk. I used an old USB cable with the ends cut off. Just carefully solder to the broken wires and run back down inside the steering column.

There is a largeish tube/vacuum line that comes off your manifold, runs back and across the fire-wall, then forward and all the way down to your vacuum ball behind the right front bumper. (I'm not making this up!). Then there is a small tube that comes back and supplies vacuum for the cruse and heater controls. (note that that large line has a "Y" sort of near the canister where vacuum goes to the Vac switch on the Transfer case) Some people find their ball is just gone, or broken. So there's that!
