Engine: 4.0L

Cruise Control is M.I.A.

1987 Jeep Cherokee XJ Auto Trans/4.0L.

Vehicle has been in storage for several years. Got it running well. However...cruise control is absolutely non-responsive...no catching a speed, no accel, no resume, no NOTHING..is this possibly a fuse someplace not shown in the owner's manual, or possibly one of those relays on the passenger side under hood? I cannot even find a place to start the search...I suspect something is just unplugged or popped fuse or link...but don't know where to start.

Most of the cruise control systems back in the Renix era were dealer installed. The factory installed the wiring and the main control box, but the dealer installed the hand controls and other components. The main control box is located under the dash on the drivers side and is yellow with the AMC logo on it. They are notorious for failure with age. Certain components were controlled by vacuum so you will need to check vac lines as well.
