Default cranks alot

I just bought a 98 cherokee. It runs great but it turns over alot before starting. Why the delayed starts?

fairly common problem, try turning your key in the on position for a few seconds before starting. this will give the fuel pump a bit more time to prime making it easier to start.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna pursue this matter. I think I might try an inline fuel pump or may be a hotter ignition. I'll let ya know if I have any success.

here, I have the same problem. In my thread there is a link talking about it. You need a bmw check valve after the fuel filter.
