Cragars/tires with stock suspension?
Well just bought my jeep and I am about to pull the trigger on some new wheels and tires. I just want to make sure they will fit properly on a stock suspension setup before buying them. I will be taking my XJ for camping trips on the weekends and daily driving it during the week.
Rims: Cragar D-windows 15x8, 4in BS, 5X4.5 bolt pattern
http://www.ebay.com/itm/390848077188...84.m1423.l2649
Tires: 235/75/15 (haven't decided what ones yet, feel free to mention some)
Suspension: Stock (will be replacing all 4 shocks shortly)
What do you guys think? should fit no problem or will I run into rubbing issues?
Any input appreciated!

I wouldn't go any bigger than 15X7 with 235s.
Even so, aftermarket wheels tend to stick out, because factory wheels have a lot of positive offset for a rear wheel drive vehicle.
Shocks won't change anything on ride height or rubbing issues.

Honestly if you're planning on doing shocks it wouldn't be hard at all to do a 1.5-2" budget boost lift. You could fit 30x9.5's on those wheels, and it would look awesome. Just throwing that out there.
I run bfg all terrains and I love them on my daily driver and for wheelin. I've also heard good things about cooper all terrains and goodyear duratracs

For now I just want new tires (mine are on their way out) and new rims while I am at it. Down the road lift it 4.5 inches and bigger tires.
My only issue now is with the tire and rim combo (listed on first post) if it will rub on my stock suspension. I do realize that these rims would stick out farther out than the OEM ones but will they rub?

I'm actually contemplating that also, but if I am going to mess with lifting it I will just go all out with the RC 4.5 X-series lift kit. That will be later down the road. If your referring to the Cragar Steel wheels like I think you are, I have the Soft Eights not the D's. If you check I think you will find them to have 3 3/4"'s of BS on them which is fine for a larger tire, I ran 31's and 33's now on them.
Could you run the small tire on the 15x8" wheel, maybe, good idea, not really. I assume what your trying to do is buy the wheels first, then later a lift finally larger tires. Reason I'm guessing would be "Money" as with most of us we understand that. I might suggest if that is the case just buy some really cheap stock size tires for your factory wheels and then save your money till you are able to do what you want all at once lift, tires, wheels.

I just got through my second winter with these. I'd buy another set in a minute.

This is the first time I've had the Grabber AT2's. I'm saying that if I needed new tires I'd get them again. If you haven't already check out the survey for on-offroad all-terrain tires. The AT2's rate as high, and in some cses higher,in what I consider the critical catagories than some higher priced tires.
