Crackling Sound from Engine

Crackling Sound from Engine
I have a 98 XJ with around 77K miles on it.
When the car is at a stand with the brakes applied I can hear a crackling or almost bubbling sound come from the engine bay. It is mostly audible from the inside probably because the 4.0L is so loud outside. The sound also appears when the gas pedal is pushed very slightly.
Does anyone know what this could be or has anyone had this happen to them

I am thinking this sound that you hear is the anti-freeze/ cooling system. That's why you hear it inside its running threw the heater core, it sounds like it needs to be burped really. Does it ever heat up?
Check and see if the radiator is full. good luck
