Are you on hard, solid ground? If so, then yes that would be normal. If the tires can't slip, then you will get some binding in tight turns while in 4lo. This can cause damage to your rig (which is why you should never use 4lo on pavement)

You really shouldn't need 4lo often if ever. I go wheeling quite often and the only time I ever use 4lo is when pulling someone else out or going up a hill-climb. 4hi works great for any snow/mud or trails that you're on where 4wd is required.

Ive been using 4wd alot today and have found that 4lo actually works better than 4hi in the snow. I was using 4hi and sliding everywhere, so I went to 4lo. It keeps the wheel spin down and helps with traction I have found..

I'd say you're using the skinny pedal too much if you're encountering wheel spin issues. Since you have an auto, try putting it in 2 or L for the transmission shifter instead of using low-range on the transfer case. It'll be easier on the Jeep as a whole and make your transfer case happier. The planetary sets in the transmission are alot bigger than the set in the transfercase.

well, it doesnt help that I have BALD tires and the fact that theyre only 225s and supposed to be street tires doesnt help... Ill try 1-2 and 4hi though. Im not being hard on the gas though, and this is just in my driveway. I got wheelspin at full lock trying to turn around..

Do you hear banjos?
It is perfectly ok, and you will not hurt anything. It is called torque steer, and all 4x4s will do it. All wheel drives will not, due to a viscous coupler or differential in the t-case, that allows the front and rear axles to turn at slightly different speeds. As for the statements about using 4-hi when wheeling, that is perfectly fine if speeds are going to be over 15-20 mph, otherwise it is FAR better on your drive train to utilize 4-lo. The planetary gear reduction reduces the strain on the transmission and parts of the t-case.
