this could be serious

theres a small rubbing noise of some sort coming from up front. it sounds like a loose ring spinning on a pole. it hasn't affected the engine at all, still drives smooth, it just started like 2 hours ago. I NEED HELP GUYS!

Have you checked the harmonic balancer. They are two part pulley and are press fitted with a rubber sleeve in between and they do seperate and can mimic several different sounds. Worth a look.
