Default Could my 4.0 be an jasper?

I was reading on another forum about all the different types of axels, motors, transmission etc all the different xj's have. I read in 96 the xj had a jasper motor. I have a 96 classic/sport with 4.0ho. Could anyone verify this or tell me how could tell if it's true and how i could tell if mine is a jasper motor.T HE FORUM IS CALLED CHEROKEETALK AND POST WAS ON AUG 30,2009 CALLED XJ SPECS

I hope this is a joke but if not then to answer your question. A Jasper motor is a stock replacement motor. Jasper is the company name, with minimal research you could have discovered this yourself. So if your motor is original then you don't have a jasper motor.

Yes, Jasper is a manufacture of rebuilt/built motors.

Aftermarket vs Stock

IDK how you would tell if your engine was actually manufactured by Jasper. Call them up and ask - they might have some stamping/plate that indicates it was a Jasper engine.

it wasn't a joke, it was a question. I know jasper builds motors and transmissions and they are beast. I'd read it on a post on another forum

That may very well be the first time I have heard anyone compliment a Jasper engine. At least I think that was a compliment.

Maybe a better statement would be that may very well be the first time I heard someone not totally trash a Jasper engine.

the Jasper comment is part of a quoted poster's signature, referring to his jeep, not 96's in general. It's right next to:

Warning: To prevent serious injury, Do not use winches to move people
Which is probably good advice. Unless they're really heavy and you're in a hurry.

Jasper rebuilds are ****. Jasper "performance" engines are ****.
Jasper didn't make factory engines. What ever forum told you that is wrong.

I just noticed it was on cherokeetalk....... makes perfect sense on my last input....
