Correct speed sensor for 1991 4.0L
I have been trying to get the correct speed sensor for my jeep and the Jeep Dealer wanted to give me a part that does not remotely look like what I need. I finally found in the 1991 Jeep Service Manual (Engine, Chassis & Body), under: NP231 Transfer Case chapter 21 - 339. Jeep calls this part: Distance Sensor. It is of course located on the transfer case not the transmission. The page also shows the speedometer pinion and all necessary components.
What got me started was my speedometer needle was going haywire. Bouncing all over and sometimes not working at all. The electrical connections were tight and all grounds were cleaned, sanded and tightened with no changes in speedometer performance.

I checked Rockauto for you and found the following.
http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/j...d+sensor,10634
There is no picture, but copying one of the OEM part numbers (56027014) listed for the Standard SC109 sensor into the Part Number Search, the Mopar sensor comes up.
