Coolant flush

I have dark brown sediment that separates from my coolant when left in a sample jug. When shaken the sediment mixes back in the coolant evenly and settles back out in a day. It is non magnetic. My block test is negative for co2. I'm going to need to flush the block and radiator. Seems fairly straightforward, any thing to add?

I just did mine and I bought the prestone radiator flush n fill kit....the one where you cut the heater hose and put the Tee in. That made it a hole lot faster and easier I have one one my F150 that has been there for 15 years and no leaks yet and it still has the original cap on it.

That little dodad makes getting air bubbles out a lot easier.

Great I already have a coolant feed barb and a garden hose barb.

You got that right!

Whenever you dig into your cooling system, consider the entire "system". That includes all hoses, a Mopar 195 degree thermostat, hoses, serpentine belt and to take it further, possibly a radiator, water pump and fan clutch.

I'm not saying you need all of this. I am saying you need to consider that you MAY need this. Do everything you think may need it when you dig in. The money you spend on cooling system maintenance is possibly the best money you may ever spend on your XJ.

Good luck!
