control arm install help...
I'm installing some new stock lower control arms from a WJ on to my 91 just until I get a long arm kit. The reason I'm doing this is because some idiot pulled out in front of me while driving and I had to slam on the brakes. My passenger side lower control arm snapped off the axle mount. So this is why I'm changing them. Is there any trick to making this job easier. I spent half the day trying to get them in but couldn't. I've got them inside the mounts but when I Jack up one side of the axle I can't get it shifted forward enough to slide in the frame end side of the control arm in. Any help would be great.

when i did mine, andy at ironman4x4 mentioned ratchet straps to align everything. luckily i didnt need them but looks like they may help you out a bit

That's exactly what I was thinking. I only need to pull the axle towards the front of my Jeep 5/8 of an inch for the control arm to clear the back of the frame mount and pop in. I'll probably hook the ratchet strap from my axle to the clevis mount on my front bumper. Hopefully that will do the the trick.

find something heavy to anchor a strap to and pull the axle into place. i park mine in the driveway and strap the other end to our 4500 lb work bench lol
