Console question
This is my first post after my introduction, so I hope this is the right place for my question. Not too long ago, I bought a 1990 Jeep Cherokee Laredo, but the previous owner stripped to cabin down to the bare metal of the frame. A friend of mine who owns a Jeep shop tells me lots of people do that, but I want to be able to have a console in the vehicle.
I plan to put U-Pol Raptor Liner in the cabin, but I am concerned that the heat coming off of the transmission underneath would cause the liner to melt underneath the console when I have it installed. Do I need to have something there to serve as a heat shield?
Please advise as I am a total rookie here.

I don't know what the po lined the floor with in my jeep but it's stands up to the heat.
I would have a heat shield above the cat and muffler, the floor gets hotter there than the trans tunnel.
