My Haynes Manual went missing in action and I ordered a new one. In the meantime, can someone tell me where this connects? Putting the 1999 back together and I don't know where the other side of this connection is.

Thanks.... again.

Cruise control actuator?

Russ Blazer 04-27-2019 07:12 AM

Hmmmm..... I just replaced the Clock Spring and I don't have cruise control. Is it possible that this was just left loose/unconnected?

Thanks
Russ

Most likely. The capped vacuum T was part of that set up.

I ain't got cruise control and I have a capped T.

It would be more helpful if you posted the colors of the wires - like green, blue, yellow-green, brown, etc.

I think it's C108.

Its the speed control connector. My 97 was not built with cruise and the same connector is dangling next to the battery. The smaller connector pinned to the inner fender is for the battery temp sensor.

Speed control connector:
1 - Tan/Red
2 - Light Green/Red
3 - Dark Blue/Red
4 - Black

The pinouts for C108 are shown, but shows 2 different shaped connectors. One is oval, and the other is the same shape as the speed control connector, but the FSM (for 97 atleast), does not show its location. The colors given are:

1 - Brown
2 - Dark Green/Orange
3 - Dark Green
4 - Dark Blue/Black

So, where exactly is C108 located?

Same spot, but it's on my 2000. I'll bet his 99 is more like your 97.

That was your second mistake. The first was buying a Haynes in the first place. They are often missing critical information, and they often have completely wrong information. Spend the money on a a Factory Service Manual (FSM) and never look back.

BlueRidgeMark,

Thanks. I will. Love these Cherokees. Have 2 now. If the FSM has the best info, I'll get one.

Russ Blazer 04-28-2019 10:57 AM

All,

Thanks for the input. I see this connector abandoned in two other 99's I saw in the junkyard.

Appreciate all the input.

Russ
