My AC crapped out in September…When I’d turn it on the compressor would keep cycling on and off…Figuring I wouldn't need it again till next summer..I put fixing it on the back burner...

When using the defroster the compressor would do the same thing and kick on and off…From what I’ve read it’s normal for the compressor to want to run when the heat control is set to defrost(not really sure what the purpose is)….

Well now the compressor doesn’t come on at all…the defroster seems to work fine…Is this something that I need to address now…or can it wait?…I just don’t want screw the thing up anymore before I get around to having it fixed…. Thanks..

low on freon is most likely the cause of the compressor coming on and off now its most likely so low it wont come on should be ok untill you recharge it

You might try and unplug the compressor, there is a electrical plug back by the firewall mine is gray. It's by the tubing and there is a black round oblong canister there to, sorry I don't know the names of the a/c parts.
