Default compressor compatibility question

Would an a/c compressor from a 91 Cherokee fit in a 2001? Can't find anyone that wants to replace a bearing in mine

Can't you look and see? If the mounts are the same and the compressor is identical I don't see why not...

No it won't.
The hose connections are completely different.

Not only are the connections different, but the refridgerant type is different too.

Not an issue since all r-12 systems can be retrofitted with the correct oil and charged with r134a.

r12 is long gone, r134a is available everywhere.

So the hose connections are different, I can't see the one on the 91' a guy just has one on Craigslist on his parts jeep. But if the connections were the same id be good because I can just put the new refrigerant in it? Does anyone know what years would be the same as 2001 by any chance?

You can call virtually any auto parts store and ask about the interchange for that compressor. they'll be able to tell you every vehicle that used that compressor.

HTH.
