Complete trans rebuild kit
Tranny went belly up so I'm searching for the most complete rebuild kit
available on the market. Any suggestions ? |
I have gotten several rebuild kits through TCI no complaints.

http://www.tciauto.com/ Is it something that needs to be ''special ordered'' ? |
Here's one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/171442375184?lpid=82 Another: http://www.onlinetransmissionparts.c...t--dsh-/Detail But I dont know if it has the same inventory as the one on eBay. RockAuto also has two kits on their site for around $330 or so but there is a question if the AW4 uses the same valve body gasket as the A340 You can get a 5% discount with code 2515823922272710 Have you rebuilt transmissions before? After rebuilding some 700R4's and 4L60E's I can tell you that it takes time and specific tools. It may be more feasible to grab an AW4 from a JY for less than the rebuild kit price + time involved. If you decide to do the undertaking, there is a video series on youtube that shows the takedown of the AW4, it is listed under Toyota A340 and there are 7 videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/iptperformancetrans/videos |
I also looked into rebuilding. I replaced the AW4 instead, which was cheaper and easier.
A good donor would be a 'part out' by another jeeper. Or one with a good warranty if from a salvage yard. |

I do have a couple of friends who are experienced mechanics and who all love Jeeps. I was thinking of bringing to XJ to one of them and helping them out with rebuilding it. |
