Cold air intake
Ok so gonna start by saying if I'm posting this in the wrong section let me know and I'll repost in the right.
I was looking at cold air intake setups for the 4.0 and like most others I see the same issue of pulling in hot air with it, I just found a kit from spectre that I think might fix that but before I spend the money I would like opinions on if it should work or if it looks like more work than its worth. Heres a pic of it from the manufacturers site

Aluminum tubing inline filter stainless breather tube, that's about all the info I can find other than about 2 hours install time and that it obviously draws the air from the cowl area. and like all other kits "up to 10hp gains"

I read a thread once that is called mods you regret doing. A cold air intake was one of them. Thought about doing this until I read that thread. But it looks ssssooooo nice though.

I have read some decent reviews on those around the net. Seems like it is louder, more work to install and you might need clear the cowl off if covered in deep snow (you should be clearing your windshield anyway) but, they do seem to reduce air temp quite a bit and I guess sit high enough in that area of the cowl to allow a fair amount of drainage. Most users seemed to be saying that if water is an issue, you should have been running a snorkel. I have been considering one myself for the minor performance gains(helps more in conjunction with other mods like headers, injectors, ignition and etc.) and the fact that opens some underhood real estate for accessories or better air flow. Of course, my info is mostly second hand.

If I finally run it I'm gonna dynamat the cowl area to help with the noise it will produce but that's still a while down the line for mods behind a bored throttle body, injectors, exhaust and some minor pieces to use to tune for the extra air and fuel
