Coil spring clamp wont tighten. Reason for suspension noise?
I am getting a noise from my front left suspension when going over bumps. It is a pretty loud "boing" sound so it is definitely coming from the coil spring. I got up under the jeep today to figure out was going on and noticed that the drivers side spring clamp was loose. So i went about tightening it and it would tighen! I think i might have stripped the threads in the spring boot when installing my lift. I think that the loose clamp is causing the sound to resonate throughout the spring. So my question to yall is, is this a big deal? Do i really need the clamp to be tight? The spring definitely isnt going anywhere so i guess ill just have to deal with noise.

The threads are striped just get a longer bolt and put nut, washer, and lock washer on from the under side of the spring perch. Or use the next size up self tapping bolt.

the "clamp" is there so that on the assembly line the coil would stay on the axle. its definitely not the culprit that is making the noise. is the coil rubbing against the knuckle?

Im not sure if it is hitting the knuckle ill have to check that out when i get a chance. What else would cause the spring to make a noise like that?

Did you find the problem causing the "boing" sound? My jeep has just started making similar sounds.
At first I thought it was the sway bar rubbing on the coil, which it was, but once I disconnected the bar it was still happening :/
