clutch problem
ok, so i have been noticing the clutch has been disengaging/engaging in a different place in the pedal travel the last couple days... well today i pushed the clutch and it popped. clutch will not disengage.
looked under the dash and nothing came unhooked, so i just started it in gear and limped it home.
i'm assuming it's the master cylinder, definately hoping it's not the slave, i don't have time to drop the trans to replace it...

I would say if it not the obvious like you said then you probably will have to drop the trans and take a peek. You really should just drop the trans anyhow just to mnake sure. Good Luck!!

it just seems like the master to me...it wont come up off the floor...with the combination of the spring in the master itself and the pedal return spring, should it not come back up off the floor?

Wheres the fluid? Find where the clutch fluid is and you will find the problem. Bottom of the trans is wet, it the slave; fluid leaking around or still in master then its the master.
I believe last time my slave went out (was newish, so was master) the pedal would return up but there was no pedal feel.

thats the effed up part, there's no fluid leaking anywhere...reservoir is full and it's not leaking into the cabin like they say a bad MC on an XJ does, nor is there any fluid on or around the transmission...

well, new master is in, pedal returns to normal height like it should, but i cannot get any pedal for the life of me. i have seen some people say they couldnt get them to bleed out, so they just had to pump it 2-300 times to get a pedal. well i have pumped it so much my lower back is starting to hurt and i still have nothing...
