Clutch Issue....Please help fellow XJ owners!!!

So long story short, I was in gridlock traffic and I depress the clutch...pedal went down, but I shortly saw smoke coming under the hood from the driver side of the engine bay, closer to the firewall...the clutch pedal wouldnt come back up, and I was stuck in 2nd gear...so I pull over (lucky I had an open spot to, pop the hood and there is smoke coming from under the intake manifold... Im guessing I busted the hose somewhere but what I wish to know is
A. is my clutch totally f***ed?
B. if not, how do I change the hose?
C. What caused this??

Any help would be appreciated, since I use my Jeep as a daily driver to work and school

you have the Peugeot BA 10 5 speed (aka the puke alot) and i would check to see the part that was damaged before buying stuff. i have seen the slave blow before the the master line blew. so check so see which part is bad first.

Not to say I don't trust ya but...

How can I tell? I called several auto suppliers out here (NAPA, AutoZone, Tognotti's, Pep Boys didnt even have it available at all) and they all ask if its the Aisin or Peugeot. Is there anywhere I can reference to what tranny I have?

Nothing more frustrating than ordering a part, waiting 3 days to find out its the wrong one....Been there!!!

From the looks of it, looks like its the Puke-alot...which is awesome (not) because EVERY shop in town has to special order it.....

They probably thought it would go well with the French fuel management and ignition system. ( RENIX ) LOL

I think the RENIX system is a good setup, but with that as well as the tranny, you would think later down the line parts would be more of a b**** to find....

BTW found the part I needed for CHEAP...and available tomorrow morning. BOOYAH!!!
