Clunks
The 1995 Cherokee XJ Sport is clunking. It is doing it mostly in turns. I can hear it going straight. If you turn it all the way left, it gets violent and shakes the jeep. Turning right isn't as bad but still bad. Almost like every revolution of the tire. Any help? Thanks.
Forgot: then I was going to inspect it and drove it around for a bit, making turns, etc.... and it wouldn't do the clunk. More of a grab. Parked it. So, I took it this morning and it's back again. Had the wife drive it (I know) and couldn't see anything. I'll try and jack it up the next few days and see if I can find anything.

Sounds to me like one or both U joints at the front wheels. Jack up one side at a time, spin the wheel back and forth and check for visible play in the U joint. There should be none.
You can also spin the wheel with the steering turned all the way one way, and if the joint is bad you’ll probably notice the binding as you spin the wheel.

Thank you for the replies. Will do it tomorrow when I can move the wife's car out of the garage. I replaced the driver side not long ago and had the other with the shaft replaced a few years ago. Thanks again.
