Pre 96?

The Country has a two tone paint job, alloy wheels, upgraded interior (power everything). Maybe some other odds but thats pretty much it.

The country was made in 97 as well. It was replaced in 98 with the classic I think. So essentially its the same thing, just a high end model of cherokee.

The classic is a one color paint/trim scheme. All the trim, bumpers, etc. are the same color.

Sorry to resurrect old thread, but I tried to do as much research as I could, and here is what each trim came with:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Base (1984-1993) – Basic model, manual everything, steel wheels, basic gauges with “idiot lights”.

Pioneer (1984-1990) – Leather seats optional, center console, rear window washer/ wiper, alloy wheels, chrome grille.

Wagoneer (1984-1990) – Leather seats optional, center console, rear window washer/wiper, alloy wheels, chrome grille, fake wood side façade, dual-stacked headlights.

Chief (1984-1990) – Hood stripes, special graphics, black exterior trim, alloy wheels.

Laredo (1985-1992) – Chrome grille, plaid seats available in 1987, leather seats available in 1992, alloy wheels, lower body side cladding and chrome trim starting 1988.

Limited (1987-1992) – Color-keyed bumpers, gold alloy wheels, gold pinstripes, leather seats, power everything, 8-speaker sound system, overhead console introduced in 1990 featuring compass & temperature gauge.

Limited (1998-2001) – Color-keyed bumpers & side molding, alloy wheels, leather seats (heated seats optional starting 1999), overhead console featuring compass / temperature gauge / gas mileage / trip computer. Chrome grille & license plate brow introduced in 2000.

Sport (1988-2001) – Black trim and bumpers, steel wheels, alloy wheels optional starting 1997, manual windows, power windows optional, color-keyed bumpers and grille starting 1998.

Briarwood (1991-1992) – Replaced Pioneer, fake wood side façade.

SE (1994-2000) – Replaced Base, renamed to increase appeal

Country (1993-1997) – Replaced Limited, champagne-colored body side cladding / fender flares / bumpers, silver-colored body side cladding /fender flares / bumpers available 1994. Color-keyed bumpers, grille, & molding in 1997.

Classic (1996) (1998-2001) – Sport model with color-keyed bumpers, grille, & molding, dark grey alloy wheels.

Freedom Edition (2000) – Sport model with special chrome alloy wheels, chrome grille, and molding,

60th Anniversary Edition (2001) – Sport model with color-keyed bumpers, grille & molding, 60th anniversary emblem, special pattern on seats.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I researched to the best of my ability. Please let me know if I was incorrect in any of the trim levels, and I will fix it.

Default 97 xj Country bull bar bumper?

So I have a 97 jeep cherokee xj country and I think I'm either the third or fourth owner of the vehicle. I am rebuilding my Jeep and trying to make it look as close as possible to factory. So I had this bull bar come with the Jeep and it looks like as if it came factory with the Jeep but I'm not sure. So anyways I got rid of the bull bar and I regret getting rid of it and what I'm trying to find information to see if it did come factory with it or if there is so brand that makes them or use to make them. I am willing to pay top dollar to get my hands on one let me know if you have any information about this bull bar bumper. You can email me at: chavezn671@gmail.com

I want to say that was factory. Well not really factory more like a dealer accessory that you could buy.
For starters Thinking you were missing the part that goes over the headlights.
I have seen what I believe to be Mopar ones in a few different configurations.
And I think there were 2 of the type you show. All black and a chrome version.
Which would explain that chrome cross bar. And I think the part that goes over the headlights was chrome too in that version.
Anyway a little reading for you.

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/oem...-guard-116794/

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f59/ca...mounts-253866/

And sure you could find more with a Google search.
Any chance you at least kept the mounting brackets?
I have poked around about this from time to time and have come to this conclusion.
That the mounting brackets are very specific and without them the install would be more difficult to work out.
Because these do come up for sale from time to time. But most times the mounting brackets are not there.
And people buy them without doing there homework and find out the without them the brush guard itself is kind of useless to them.
Unless of course you posses some fabrication skills.
Go here and post that you are looking for one.

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/if-...-parts-259817/

Hey maybe you get lucky and I come across one.
And my thread could use a bump anyway. LOL.
I have seen a couple over the years for sale.
But chances are it will not be local to you if I do find one and can only imagine what it would cost to ship something like that.
Add that to the purchase price and thinking it might cost arm and a leg. LOL.
Might want to start a thread in the Wanted part of the Buy, Sell, and Trade section too.
