chugging and wanting to die in 3rd

my jeep started chugging and wanting to die when i shifted it into 3rd and i had to floor it to keep it from dying on me. first and 2nd seem to be doing just fine though. anyone got some ideas on whats going on?

When's the last time you replaced plugs, wires, cap and rotor?
