I run the CHY 8.25 29 spline with 4.56 gears and a Detroit Locker 33x12:50x15" tires, well pleased with the setup.

I'm not very technical at all, but I wanna try to swap it myself, so here's part II- What all should I bring next time I'm at the JY to pull it, and what else do I need to get for the swap, all I know is get oil and a new gasket for it... what else?

Also thanks for all the help everyone, making this a real easy decision on me, hopefully Chery will be happy with a 8.25 in her, I promised I'd get er a D44.

I have been running the Chrysler 8.25 for some years now and what I found to work well it put a full locker in it and run it with 33s and it will last forever and if you want you can always throw chromally shafts in. most of the time if you happen to loose a axle shaft just keep some spares but honestly its very unlikely to break them.

I just picked up an 8.25 at a wrecking yard. What should I do to it before I swap out my D35.
