Chopped xj
2 Attachment(s)
So i chopped my xj finaly it was kinda scary at first but its turnin out pretty cool, i think. I finished the wiring for the rear hatch today, it all works. So here it is......Wat do you think?:dunno: or  or

Like that you kept the hatch. Looks good.
|
Looks good man! about how long did it take you from start to finish?
|
i really like the hatch idea! its different but still pretty cool. My only worry is how are you going to seal it? and i rivet or bolt a steel plate onto the fiberglass hatch because when you are wheeling and something hits the hatch the fiberglass wont last to long...
Although again i do like ti =] |
looks good i choped my old cherokee then lost interest in it and so it sat that way till i sold it then the new owner just stripped the interrior and the dash then just abandoned it just pisses me off. BTW where at in idaho do you live im in Mtn. Home.

Nice chop
|
You did a pretty good job! I like that you kept the hatch functional.
|

You definitely did a great job trimming your hatch...
Looks real unique! |
Nice chop man how hard is it gonna be to seal the little windows in the rear?
I plan on doing the same kinda thing but with out the back latch & on my 2 door! |
Do you plan on putting any type of cage in there. Since it is a unibody the whole structure needs to work together for support.
|
I don't like it. poor jeep
|
Neat... And need more pictures please...
|
yes i plan to do an internal roll cage.
|
Maybe the chopped look isnt for everyone, but it is far from a poor jeep. a poor jeep is an 99 xj that is sittin in a drive way completely stock with NO mods at all and has never left pavement to be properly trail rated, never seen a hill, or even a puddle for that matter. thanks for the comment. =)
|
could you post some more pics that are up close im thinking of doing the same thing but not sure were to cut or trim on the hatch
|
chopped cherokees are badass
i cant wait to buy a peice of **** jeep so i can hack the back off |
good job saving the hatch
|
I like the look
I just joined this forum so I am slow to reply to a thread from Feb. I like your idea regarding maintaining the rear hatch. It does have a good look to it. I chopped my Cherokee out of necessity (did not intentionally set out to do so but done because of an accident that destroyed much of the roof and the rear hatch).
Nice work! Jim |
I am starting to like that look. I was against it for a long time, but I now think it does look cool.
This one with the hatch moved up looks the best, & just needs a tailgate net to complete the look. |
