Default Cherry Bomb Pro on 01 XJ / 4.5 inch RC lift questions

Ok so me and buddy were going to install this but the way it turned out was something was diff in the design and when we went to autozone the guys said that it needed to be cut and welded .... I was wondering if this was totally true or if there was any way? Also bout to do a 4.5 rough country lift on my xj and was wondering if I added spacers and shackles to the kit for en extra 2 inches if I would need a sye kit? I know definetly I would need extended brake lines ...because idk if I can even do a sye because its a 2wd so any advice on how I could do this to create a total of 6.5 inch lift? The tires that will be going on here are 285 /65/ 18 s help please Haha? This is my very first lift and this xj wont be seeing very much wheeling just some dirt roads.

Was also wondering if I would need to extend the drive shaft on top of this... EDIT: even if it was just a total of 5.5 inches?

I dont think its a "must" the the exhaust be cut and welded on. If you buy the right size ID/OD you can just bolt it strait on. I have done that to a number of vehicles. You might have to add some pipe to compensate for the muffler being shorter if it is.

Welding is the best way in the long run tho. An exhaust clamp will work alright, but can still leak and what not.

As for the lift, I just installed the 4.5" RC lift on my 2wd this past week. It comes with the extended brake lines. It actually comes with everything needed for the 4.5"...but if you are going to be going higher, I think you would need a longer drive shaft. I am new to the whole lift thing too, and dont know if a SYE would work or even be needed for a 2wd. BUT long story short, anything over 4.5" lift, you should def get a dif drive shaft that is longer.

Well, actually drive shafts on the 2wd drive models are long enough to withhold up to 6.5 inches as far as i know after spending 3 hours calling every mechanic i could get a hold of lol
