are cherokees in gas tank "recall"
 

I was just reading about the recall with the grand cherokees and libertys. I didnt see any info about the xj and its the same set up as the grand cherokee. My mom has a gc and i looked under both and chryslers "fix" is a free tow hitch so why isnt the xj included in the recall or is it

Our gas tanks dont hang as low as theirs, thats why

My mom has gc and it sits just as low as my 99 xj

it was the height of the gas tank also i believe the way the frame was around the gas tank. The XJ was more protected from harm. Either way its not included in the recall.

^This, XJs have a higher tank and the suspension design (leaf-springs) has more structural members behind/around the tank, so they are not in the recall.

I didnt look at how it was set up around tank but would make sense

Look at the back of the wj grands the black thing hanging down under the bumper is the gas tank.On the wj jeep moved the spare tire to the floor like a car which made them lower the gas tank.
