I have a 99 jeep cherokee sport with about 103,000 miles, i do alot of highway driving and yesterday when i got home my check guages light came on, and the only guage that was different was my battery guage it jumped all the way +, so i parked it and next day tried to go to work , it starts up but dies if i dont give it any gas. any suggestions would be helpful, i tried testing the battery its fine, i have new cables on it, i recently replace alternator 5 months ago. im stuck in a rut. thanks

On the side of the throttle body there is a little motor looking thing that comes out with two torx bolts (T20's I believe). Take that off and clean it with carb cleaner.

Does it only need your foot on the gas tell it warms up or the whole time? Might want to replace the O2 sensors if it gets better after driving it for a min!

Either way its a good idea to clean the throttle body & sensors!

yea sounds like an idle air control valve issue, possibly (but I doubt it) a throttle position sensor

Either way it good to clean the whole thing while he's there. That's all I was saying

I had an F150 that did the same thing. I replaced the Idle Air Bypass Valve and it fixed it.

my gf jeep jsut did the same thing it was the TPS. when you rolled up to stop it would die and anytime idling would have to drive with 2 feet haha
