cherokee tilt now more problems

the tilt was moving 1"-2" on my tilt which i found out is a very common problem, removed all the guts under the wheel was very carefull how i took it apart and tightend the 4 torx bolts at the bottom and when i put it all back together the brites come on when i tilt my wheel and i have no tailights or dash lights. any suggetions would be very helpfull. ive looked for a hole new assembly and have not come across one because it would cost a little bit of money but than it would be done with. its on a 1989 jeep cherokee. thanks in advance. also if anyone knows where i could maybe get one thatd be great. i know junkyards... but there is one big junkyard within 100 miles of me and the only cherokee they had did not have the column. if any one knows where to get one online thatd be great!

put a non tilt colum in and get rid of the tilt crap,or the junk yard should be able to tell you what other vechicles the coloum interchanges with its just a gm coloum

if i put an old column in will i install the switch from that column or will i have to use my existing one because i think that might be where the problem is and if i use one from a different car where the colums right will the wiring be the same

If your current ignition is going bad and you have a new one then take the new one to a lock smith along with your old keys and have him change the plungers inside to work with the old key. I did this with a few cars. cost about 5 bucks.

You probably just moved the bar/rod that goes from the Hi/lo beam switch to the switch itself. I sent you a link that may help you out...Tj

take all the parts that come with the donor colum and should just plug right into existing wiring harness
