Cherokee stalled weird stuff

On my to work today my transmission was giving me some issues. It was having a REALLY hard time shifting from 1st to 2nd. And it would not shift into 3rd. When I got close to work my Cherokee stalled 3 times. Started every time but then after a little bit it would stall. Luckily I made it to work.

On my way home I had no issues and the transmission shifted fine.

Any ideas?

Could this have been caused by torque converter drain back?

I didn't drive it the day before.

Engine: 3.6L

Check transmission fluid level when hot, idling in park.

Fluid should be cherry red.

If auto, maybe nss? I had shifting issues once, didn't shift into fourth gear, but never stalled out. I cleaned my nss and since then everything has worked just fine.
