Cherokee Laredo Engine cuts out
I have a 90 Model Cherokee with the inline 6 engine. After getting it I have done the usual new owner maintenance, oil, filters, plugs, distributor cap and rotor, etc. plus a new fuel filter.
It runs and drives fine and at some point it will cut out and buck like a plugged fuel filter. I have changed it a couple times, and drained it a couple times, only to have it start up and run fine. It has continued to cut out the same with no explanation. So, I'm either suspecting trash in the fuel line, coil or ignition module. Due to the fact that it will idle sure looks like a fuel filter or chocked up fuel line. When its idling you can put it in gear and attempt to proceed, only for it to buck again and not run.
I hate to start buying parts hoping to get the right thing. Does anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks
