Charging Problems
Charging system on my 1990 4.0 is a bit screwy lately. The gauge is reading 14 at idle with nothing on, 10ish with fan and lights. Everything works fine with the battery unhooked.
Dropped a new battery in yesterday ... no help. Bit of a chirp from the alternator. I would say the alternator is shot but if it stays running with no battery that shouldn't be the problem. I also checked every wire and connector I could get my hands and all look fine.
Any ideas?
