Boring cuts the holes in the block that the pistons travel up & down in bigger in diameter, and requires new-larger pistons and rings. Stroking, in effect, makes that hole longer and requires a new crankshaft and connecting rods.

x2,you will gain little buy boring, alot of engines are bored during a rebuild, the real power comes from the longer stroke of the piston, which is accomplished buy using a crankshaft that has smaller connecting rod journals,in this case the crankshaft from a 258 is used, along with the connecting rods.
You can build a stroker for less than $1,000 or about the same prise as a normal rebuild if you obtain the crank and rods yourself vs buying from a company.
