Default Check out my radiator setup...do I need a trans cooler?

'96 XJ here and I take off my grill to see about putting in a trans cooler and what do I find but this big black radiator thing in front of the silver coolant radiator I installed a couple months back.

What is it, the black one? Is it a trans cooler already installed? If so, should I just skip putting in the 11x7.5x.75 plate style cooler I was planning on?
