"Check Engine " light

The "Check Engine" light on my 97XJ 4.0 litre, 4wd, Auto trans. The truck is running fine and no perceivable change in performance. After looking it over and doing the basic checked, I had the fault read at a local auto parts store . the code was for excessive voltage bank 1 sensor 2 and I was informed it may be a faulty Oxygen sensor.. Well lo and behold they got it right. when I went to remove the Oxygen sensor it just disintegrated when I touched it. After 266XXX miles I guess it's service is complete.

Wow, what an incredible lifespan! I've never seen one hit this mileage before.

Assuming you replaced both of them?

Thanks for sharing.....

Goes to show you how much the Check Engine light is worth when it comes to diagnosing an O2 sensor.
