- that would be the book for me!!
Sorry I'm so dense but with the D-Rings, do you unhook the D-ring? Not having any I thought they were welded 'closed' but if that's the case, that's too easy (lightbulb <on>). DUH! I got in my small, little-used brain that the strap had to be looped somehow on both vehicles.
Thanks! I'm trying to outfit my XJ for the weather we're going to have and would like to be able to help someone out if needed. Sorry to hijack the thread!

I'm EXTREMELY new to recovery stuff like this and understand how to loop one end of the strap to one vehicle but can't for the life of me figure out how to attach the OTHER end of the recovery strap to the other vehicle without using some sort of metal something. Anybody have a picture of this for someone that's not the sharpest knife in the drawer?
Thanks!

Thanks!
also i come across these alot becuase of work... but i used some tow hooks off a 6x6 peterbuilt truck and they are rated for liek 12 tons. i used them on my cj they look sick! and you will never break them but make sure u properly attach them to the unibody! you should be able to find them on any twin screw semi truck.
