centre diff modifications
I have a 93 xj with selec-trac transmission (auto). Does any one know if it is possible to modify the transmission so that you can select low box without the centre difflock engaging. This would be a benefit for towing heavy loads up steep hills on tarmac. Thanks.

Thanks for the information, i have looked this kit up. The only problem is that the Jeep will then only be in 2 - wheel drive in lo box. I would like to run it in 4 - wheel drive low box without the centre diff locking causing steering tightness and transmission wind up. This is how a land rover is set up. When I think about it the truck will run in 4 - high all the time without the centre diff engaged, so it would be good to do the same in 4 - low. Maybee it is just the design on the transfer box. For information a later landrover ( a 90 or 110) is permanant 4 wheel drive with a lever to engage low box ( also 4 wheel drive) and another lever to engage the centre diff. Thanks.
